Me: Is that marker on your face?
J: No… But it’s okay.
Me: So that is marker on your face
J: Yes, but it’s okay, I looked in the mirror and I look cool.
Me: Really.
J: Yes. I look like Caillou’s grandma.

You’ve got a serious problem here: this kid thinks Caillou’s grandma looks cool.

The much bigger problem was that he thought Caillou was cool. That little fuck crept up on us in the dark of night — by the time we were aware of him it was too late. J was completely addicted. Caillou was his Dora.

I think I may know her 😆

I never noticed a moustache on her, but I never looked as hard as J.

You could say that. Or you could say that my kid was brainwashed by a little kid with alopecia who never ever got in trouble. Ever. God DAMN I hated that show.

Better than trying to look like Caillou, right?

He wasn’t allowed to use scissors at the time, so he couldn’t cut off his hair. Otherwise…

Yeah. This morning I told him that sneakers weren’t invented until he was born, and then sent him off to school. We’ll see what happens when he gets home.

I am with you….that show made me crazy! Ugh. Do, however, very much enjoy the look of your little lad……too cute for words…..much better than Callou’s grandmother!

Thanks you- we have no idea how the kids ended up so cute. My husband thinks it’s the mailman.

He is that. K is as well; she came up behind me the other day saying “what’s that terrible smell? Oh, it’s your butt.” Sweet, sweet, child. And honest. 🙂

Okay, so who is Caillou? Love the picture. You need to keep that for embarrassing him when he gets to be an arsy teenager.

Absolutely. I have some real winners saved up for his first girlfriend.
Caillou is an animated four-year-old Canadian boy with a terrible case of alopecia that no one talks about. He’s a whiny bratty little thing with parents who have no names and simply exist to serve him at every whim. I hate him. I hate him almost as much as Dora. Every parent on the northern half of our continent hates him. If he were laying on the street bleeding, I’d kick him.

Urgh… That is some nasty bidness. If I made it he’d eat it, though, for I am “the best cooker”.

OMG, you are hilarious! I was going over old posts from last year, and realized I had never answered one of your comments, and then I’m at that conundrum where I wonder if I should answer something that is a year (or three) years old or not. Anyway, I noted that you have slight dislike for Cailou. So do I. I also realized that I have not covered that show in my merciless mocking of children’s TV I do on my blog. I will have to cover Cailou, and dedicate it to you.

Thank you, and that would be lovely. In my humble opinion, that little fucker and his Alopecia deserve all the merciless mocking we can muster (and throw in some alliteration too, just fer fun). I’m working on a project right now, so I haven’t been around too much, but Naptimethoughts still goes through to my email so I’ll be sure to read your post. Thanks again!

At that age, he kind of did look like Caillou’s grandma. Although I never observed her to have facial hair.
